Kelly is originally from Northampton where she started to learn piano and violin at the tender age of 11. As polite and cucumber sandwich like as this all sounds this is also the time that she really got into Heavy Metal. After moving around a lot, she finally landed in Colchester where she studied classical violin, got bright purple hair and met guitarist Jean-Paul (who became a great drinking partner).

In between listening to Rachmaninov and Marilyn Manson she also joined celtic rock band The Wickermen and toured England and Scotland with Darren, who was later to become JF's keyboardist. After two years Kelly moved to London where she had been offered a placement to study violin at The Trinity College of Music.

Even though she loved playing classical music and trying to convert classical snobs into headbangers, she decided to give it all up that year against everyone's wishes. Joining writing forces with Jean-Paul she could now sing and play the violin the way it should be played - far less strictly and with a lot more guts! Things turned full circle though in 2005 when she decided to return to music college and complete her music degree. While still kicking ass with Jack's Family, she is now also free to explore classical as well.
